Flotsam & Jetsam (8/15)

Being Radical – Love this: “Radical, they say. We want to be radical Christians. We want to do big things. Missional things… The point we miss is that sometimes the ‘ordinary’ things are radical.” (I’m thinking we could all use a little less Platt and a little more Chesterton.)

Free Album – Strahan’s album Posters is available for free on Noisetrade until the 21st. It’s terrific. If you need some more convincing, just listen to ‘Deliverance’. That is all.

The Humpfest Masquerade – “Secular tolerance does not want evil to come alongside good, and be given an honored place alongside good on the shelf of ethical options. No, this is a binary world, and you cannot declare evil good without also declaring good evil.”

Frustrated Novelist No Good At Describing Hands – Some language here, but the rest is just hysterical. I lost it completely at “arm-foot in arm-foot”.

The Sacred Precincts of Divine Wisdom – “Human curiosity renders the discussion of predestination, already somewhat difficult of itself, very confusing and even dangerous. No restraints can hold it back from wandering in forbidden bypaths and thrusting upward to the heights. If allowed, it will leave no secret to God that it will not search out and unravel.”

Rare Video Footage of G.K. Chesterton – Yes, you read that right.

“Life appears to me too short to be spent in nursing animosity or registering wrongs.” – Brontë, Jane Eyre

  1. Okaaaay….That guy describing (or not describing) hands had me cracking up. Seriously? Is he for real? Hahaha!

Secondly, I still cannot believe that you found footage of Chesterton. Major awesome points right there.

Thirdly, I am so honored to be on this list :)

Fourthly, (and lastly) I downloaded Strahan’s album today. Fantastic.

    1. Nah, don’t worry, it’s a joke. :) The Onion is known for that kind of satire and they’re usually pretty hilarious. That article is one of the best I’ve read yet.

Secondly: I know, right? So cool. His trademark wit is evident even in that brief clip.

Thirdly: Your post was spot-on. :)

      Fourthly: YES. Strahan FTW.
