Act of Valor

Fact-based story. Superb direction. Painstakingly authentic combat sequences. And a cast led by active-duty Navy SEALs. Wow. This may not be a perfect movie, but it’s a welcome antidote to the cynicism that pervades liberal Hollywood. A keeper for sure.

About the Ink Slinger

I am first and foremost a sinner saved by grace alone, and my chief aim in all of life is to bring honor and glory to my God, working to extend His Kingdom here on earth with every fiber of my being. I’m seventeen, and a lover of books, movies, music, logic, Reformed theology, history, guns, and the great outdoors. And Italian food.

  1. Heard this was an outstanding flick–I’ll make sure it’s on my “to see” list. Looking forward to your review!

  2. I joined the Navy to be a SEAL, but was slightly too near-sighted once I finished bootcamp. Have several friends who were with the Teams. Have a lot of respect for them and their job. Looking back, I am thankful to the Lord that I was deep sea salvage though. Hooyah, deep sea!

    • Act of Valor certainly made me more fully appreciate what the SEALs do – like Saving Private Ryan and Black Hawk Down, the film has a deeply ingrained respect for the heroes in our armed forces. And I like that. :)

Josh really wants to see this one.. and now so do I! That’s neat about the actors. Makes it more realistic, I think.

    Thanks for sharing about it!

  4. Lady Amy says:

Neat, I’ll put it on my list of movies to watch with my brother. :)
